Getting a pointe shoe fitting right isn’t just about size — it’s about foot shape, strength, arch, and readiness. At Studio Dancewear, every fitting is done one-to-one, so your dancer leaves with a shoe that actually supports her feet, not just one that looks right on the shelf.

• I stock a wide range of sizes and widths, so I fit the shoe to the foot — not the foot to whatever’s in stock

1. Assessment - I check foot shape, arch, strength and flexibility to understand what your dancer’s foot actually needs

2. Fitting — I try a curated selection of shoes suited to that assessment, not a random pile of boxes

3. Walk & dance test — your dancer moves in the shoes so I can check fit under real conditions, not just standing still

4. Guidance — we talk through ribbon/elastic sewing, break-in, and signs a shoe no longer fits as she grows

Duration: ~30–45 mins 

It is a condition that students must have been assessed by their ballet teacher and given the green light to book an appointment. In general, it is recommended that students should be a minimum of 12 years old and have also gone through their second growth spurt. This helps to ensure the students safety while En Pointe. Strength and alignment will be checked at each appointment and if any issues are noted, this will be discussed at the appointment and if necessary, an appointment will be recommended with a dance related physiotherapist, podiatrist or other.
